Dress Code

So what do we like to see at Carwash?

DJ Dexter, who created the Carwash Phenomenon says,"Its a retro club not just a 70s club, so it doesn't have to be 70s only. It does have to be groovy and colourful and you can draw from 80s, 90s and noughties. If you want to dress 70s you can, but imagine that you going out as a single in the 1970s so dress well”

In case you are in any doubt, here are some looks we love to see on a Saturday night:

GO-GO Girls

  • Hot pants

  • Platform Boots

  • Mini dresses

  • Bee-hives

Disco Divas

  • Catsuits

  • Glittery sexy tops

  • Feather boas

  • Quality bob wigs

  • Quality afro wigs
    (like real hair)

Harlem Hustlers

  • Well cut retro suits

  • Flares

  • Tight shirts with long collars

  • Platform shoes

  • Bling jewellery

Super Fly Guys

  • Flared jeans and trousers

Cowboys and girls

  • Cowboy hats and wild west accessories

  • Daisy dukes and cowboy boots

Miami Vice

  • Pastel suits with thin ties

  • Ray Ban sunglases

  • Chunky gold jewellery

  • 80’s excess

Club Tropicana

  • Poolside glamour

  • 80s hair accessories

  • Asymmetric Hair Do’s

  • Pop socks

  • Colourful sunglasses

Outrageously Colourful Clubwear

Please don’t wear:

  • Super hero outfits

  • Smart casual

  • Cheap afro wigs on white guys (this is not the Black and White Minstrel Show!)

  • Blow up dolls, L-Plates and veils (these items are atacky)

You get the vibe. Please come in something that is funky disco-sexy and cool.  Remember it’s not about making fun of the 70’s and 80’s, it’s about having fun and looking good on one of the most colourful dancefloors in London. Plan your outfit, feel great and come party with us!! xx
